Η κάρτα διαθέτει 2.048 cores, περίπου 30% περισσότερους από την HD 6970, ενώ τα υπόλοιπα τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά περιλαμβάνουν 384-bit memory bus, PCI Express 3.0, 128 texture units και 3GB μνήμης GDDR5. Ο πυρήνας είναι χρονισμένος στα 925MHz, ενώ οι μνήμες τρέχουν στα 1.38GHz (5.5GHz effective).
Παρά τα κορυφαία χαρακτηριστικά, η κάρτα έχει πολύ λογική κατανάλωση, καθώς βρίσκεται κάτω από τα 300 watts σε full load.
Η κάρτα θα κυκλοφορήσει ευρέως στις 9 Ιανουαρίου, με την τιμή της να έχει οριστεί στα 550 δολάρια. Το κόστος είναι υψηλό, αλλά μιλάμε για την κορυφαία κάρτα του κόσμου.
